Bradley Double Super 1 Wins!

bra300807.jpg

There were no king prawn sandwiches and champagne to celebrate Richard Bradley’s 3rd win out of 4 races in the Super 1 championships at Warden Law last weekend (26 August)  – simply a bottle of water, and a pat on the back from his proud team and dad. Roy Keane - manager of nearby Sunderland United – would’ve approved. The 16-year old overcame a poor qualifying session to take two stunning victories - and put himself right back in contention for overall title honours.

Former Formula 1 world champion Michael Schumacher might not be back in the F1 paddock for a while for Ferrari, but he will be probably spotted at karting tracks next year as the German joined forces with the KSN karting team. This German karting team will be called KSM (Kaiser, Schumacher, Muchow) from the 1st of January 2008. The karting team was founded by Peter Kaiser in Michael Schumacher’s home town Kerpen. Peter Kaiser said about his new shareholder in the KSN team: “I’m really happy to welcome my friend Michael Schumacher as a partner in the team. I’m positive we can make a great step forward next year.” Michael Schumacher commented on his deal with the karting team: “I never lost my love for karting and that’s why I really enjoy joining this team and working with them.”

Kart Simulator!

The simulator has proven to be a valuable training tool for racers who want to keep their reactions sharp during the non-racing season, but it is also popular with gaming aficionados too. Development of the simulator began four years ago when the Wagners, who live in Minnesota, realized that their son was at a disadvantage when the racing season began in December in Daytona, Florida, because of the prolonged absence from the track. Driving instructor Steve Welk suggested that racing video games would help in learning the racing lines, brake and throttle control and keep hand-eye coordination sharp. What began as an old kart chassis hooked up to a Playstation has evolved into a state-of-the-art simulator on which you can “race” many different tracks, formulas and track formations. There are a wide variety of options available ranging from cadet to full-sized and a from bare-bones setup to a simulator with a 27-inch screen and infrared headset that changes the view on the screen when you move your head.
