Strawberry Racing’s Mini and Senior Max stars triumph in thrilling encounters at Whilton Mill. George Russell restored himself to the top of the Super 1 Championship’s Mini Max leaderboard with a pair of superbly taken wins at Whilton Mill, last Sunday.

As the action-packed main final neared its conclusion, there was still nothing in it between the main protagonists, as mistakes by each of the drivers were instantly punished. Through the penultimate corner it was heart in the mouth stuff as the karts bumped and bored for position, but in the dash to the line, just over a tenth of a second was enough to give George a superb victory – his fourth of the campaign…

Schumacher In Vegas!

Schumacher to race in Vegas! Of course, it will be in karts! Still, the news deserves an exclamation point or two. Or three! Apparently the Toro Rosso duo of Sebastien Buemi and Jaime Alguersuari also will be competing. We are closing in on a USGP, people! The seven-time Formula 1 champ will be in Vegas in less than two weeks for a SKUSA Nationals event!

Seven-time World Formula One Champion Michael Schumacher will be a part of the Tony Kart Factory team line-up at next weekend’s (November 18-22) SKUSA Nationals in Las Vegas. Schumacher will be competing in the Super Pro (KZ2) category, six-speed gearbox 125cc engine, in the 13th Annual SKUSA Nationals that will take place in front of the Hotel Rio in the centre of Las Vegas. Schumacher will be joined in the line-up for Tony Kart Racing Team in the Super Pro (KZ2) category by 2007 winner and multiple world champion Italian Marco Ardigò and Englishman Gary Catt.

Catt boasts several prestigious international titles, such as the victory of the Italian Open Master, the victory of the Margutti Trophy and of the Winter Cup. He has been also vice European and World Champion. I believe I just heard Todd checking airline websites for cheap fares to Vegas. Don’t forget to catch Cirque du Soleil while you’re there!

CIK @ Macau Suspended!

The Karting World Championship which is scheduled to be raced this weekend in Macau suffered a premature halt this Saturday.

The officials of the event decided to suspend racing after the qualifying practice and just two qualifying heats. The cause : the asphalt surface of the circuit had been damaged by the passage of the karts in racing conditions. A solution is currently being sought to enable this, the first World Championship to be staged in Asia, to go ahead without any further misfortune and still all be determined on Sunday.

Update: It seems there was a lot of dust coming form the recently rebuilded asphalt circuit and it was entering the helmets and the airboxes. But it now seems that there have been worls on the track all nigh long and now the racing has continued.
